The current version of this website was created on the 2nd-5th May 2026 (while ill), and I went pretty near insane making it. I first started coding in 2023 and have irregularly dipped into it ever since -
I currently run 4 websites (including this one), and when coding new websites I often rely heavily on looking at my old code to try and recreate what has worked for me before. Making this website also involved heavy consultation of HTML Dog's HTML and CSS tutorials, as well as my beloved W3Schools. The more wesbites I make, the more lacking I feel my knowledge of HTML and CSS is, but I've also noticed that I'm getting better at problem solving while coding - centring the image and text on the homepage was significantly more difficult than I expected, and took a lot of different approaches to make it finally work (just don't look too closely at it).
All of the images used in this website are my own - the image on my homepage is one I took in late April 2026 with my camera and edited with Dithermark. For the background, I wanted a plain but textured off-white image to make it look like a blank canvas but avoid looking corporate. I ended up with an image I took on my phone of a wall in my current bedroom that I reflected in Inkscape so that it would repeat seamlessly. Using my own images has made this website feel much more personal than if I had just used images I'd found online - despite how simple the layout I have ended up with is, it definitely feels like an art project in and of itself rather than just functional.
My main aim with this website was to create somewhere I could display my art projects and photography, as well as sharing current media that has had a big influence on me.
However, I also wanted to have a website that is associated with me personally so I could show people in my life some of my web design - coding has become a weirdly secretive hobby for me on account of all of my websites (thus far) being anonymous/under online personas. I'm still aiming to keep this as anonymous as possible considering that I'm sharing photography, but hopefully this can serve as a demonstration of what I'm up to on the web usually! (I think I have a very distinctive style of website, so if you want to go digging through Neocities to try and find my other website, be my guest, but I don't update them very regularly so I imagine it would be quite a challenge.)
